What would have made The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up improve?
Past the time y'all get thru two capacity your entire firm could've been spic and span & you still wouldn't accept learned anything new.
All she says is - Throw things away. Imagine how you want your room to look. So clean it. Put things away. Think almost your loved ones having to clean your house out after you die & make decisions based on that.
I just saved you one credit & hours of your life.
What could Marie Kondo have done to make this a more than enjoyable book for y'all?
Written a one page magazine article rather than saying the same thing over and over again to go far a volume.
People don't care that she wanted to clean her room instead of studying.
Who would you lot have cast as narrator instead of Emily Woo Zeller?
Anyone who could make a point rather than rambling on and on.

Concept is proficient, simply...
I listened to this at the recommendation of my wife. I was all for living simply by tidying our infinite. Personally, this volume lost me in talking virtually how my socks "feel" beingness rolled up or that I need to give thanks my shoes for the piece of work they practice each day. That'southward just not my thing.

I both love and hate this life changing book
What was one of the virtually memorable moments of The Life-Irresolute Magic of Tidying Upwards?
At one indicate this woman tells the reader that they will honey folding. I have a clean laundry basket and a muddied laundry basket, and i always have, because i detest folding. When i beginning listened to the narrator tell me this I audibly laughed. Absurd! Well 2 weeks afterwards, I am finished with the wearing apparel, books, and papers department of her guide and I just realized I didnt dread folding my clothes this weekend... I turn down to say that I love folding but proverb that I dont dread/hate information technology is a huge step. I am so annoyed that she is right, and so happy to accept amazing drawers.
I would describe my entire experience of the book like this. I am so annoyed with whatever she is saying and yet I want to do everything she is saying and in the end every step of hers that I have followed has been revolutionary for my life.
How annoyingly wonderful.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I have well over 100 books in my Aural library now, and while I came across several really fantabulous ones, this was the one that compelled me to write a review for the kickoff time. I would definitely recommend this to a friend and have done so already. It is a fascinating listen. The author approaches such a mundane chore as tidying with such passion, inventiveness and inspiration that I am absolutely amazed. I loved her very last chapter besides, where she points out that if you (the reader) cascade as much passion into what you do, the results will surpass all expectations. It felt to me that Marie Kondo uses "tidying" every bit therapy sessions. I accept finished her volume in two long commutes during this cold and snowy Chicago wintertime. It was perfect, not too intense and however and so much to recollect most - my own habitation, things I possess and why. One other very interesting matter to me was that being a Japanese she describes how things are in Japanese households. I take travelled to Japan many times and I know that Japanese houses are much smaller than those in the Usa on average. Thus it was very fascinating how the author addressed the need for storing things in a Japanese home.
What was ane of the most memorable moments of The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up?
Her approach to life - surround yourself with things (and people for that matter) that "spark joy" - so easy, nonetheless makes then much sense.

I also loved the narrator. She did a superb job peculiarly pronouncing Japanese words. Oftentimes narrators butcher foreign words, simply Emily did a fantastic job. I enjoyed this listen a lot!

This volume brings me joy!!
As a person encumbered with the possessions of a 7 person household (and a pooch), I finally can see my way past the clutter and on to a "tidier" life. (By the mode, I despise the word "de-clutter"... now it's "tidying up"!) The simplistic however profound methods & thought processes introduced in this volume have finally inspired me, not overwhelmed me. It was presented in a manner I could understand and relate to. I have started with my own clothes (beginning!!) and volition proceed with MY possesssions BEFORE I effort to tidy-up my family. I feel freedom already. Cheers Marie Kondo!!

Life-changing Indeed
I listened to this book several months ago-- twice. It'southward short and entertaining and easy to follow. Most chiefly, it's inverse my life. In the last few months, I've decluttered my bedchamber closet, linen closet, hall closet, dresser drawers, bathroom, bookshelves, junk drawer, and part. Next up are the kitchen and garage. I feel so much meliorate with my possessions winnowed downwards and organized. The book really has brought me joy.

Okay Concepts but Horribly Written and Narrated
Narration is almost every bit if read by a computer plan with random bursts of emphasis. Writing is cocky-absorbed and redundant about a unproblematic subject. The concepts of this volume, although extremely helpful, can be summarized onto 1 sheet of paper, and this book is an obvious coin-catch typical of the mod guru-giddy world.

Robot voice
At that place were some interesting points in here.
Some of it seems more of a "sounds expert in theory" only doesn't sound realistic in do. I also feel the author fosters a culture of waste. Advising to simply throw everything away and buy information technology once again if yous ever need it again.
Also the narrator sounded like a text to speech programme at times. If not text to speech, than the overhead phonation at the airport.

Inspirational
Volume exceeded my expectations. At long last I tin can let get of "things ". I have more than time to practice the things that add together joy to my life. I no longer have to spend hours trying to notice items in the firm which were subconscious by ataxia. My blood pressure has improved. Life-Changing is an understatement!

Drivel, drivel, drivel
This book wasn't for you, but who do you call back might enjoy it more?
This a ludicrous book. Two types of people would enjoy it: those who feel their lives are out of control but who'd rather read about fixing information technology than really fix it; the other type are OCDs like the author, who, past the fashion, sounds similar she's yet a kid living at home.I wonder how she'll feel at 40 with a houseful of kids.
Would you ever listen to anything past Marie Kondo once again?
Not unless she learns how to write, stop talking about herself and gets a good editor.
What didn't y'all like near Emily Woo Zeller'due south performance?
Actually, I liked her performance just fine. I didn't want to give any extra "stars" for this book because I don't want people to feel in that location's anything redeeming in it.
What character would yous cut from The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up?
The narrator/author is so smug, so annoying, and so obviously obsessed with control, information technology'southward difficult -- no impossible-- to listen to her. I skipped huge chunks of it but to endeavor to find some useful communication. And I could cut (fire) this adult female's editor. Why didn't someone stop this book before information technology went into print?

The author's repetition of her early life as a clean freak was frankly bizarre. If she needed filler, surely she didn't have to repeat exactly the same stories with the same words. This woman had plenty information to fill 1 side of a 3x5 card,. and they let her plow it into a book. I bet there are authors out there with of import things to say who aren't getting published because drivel similar this does. Drivel, drivel, drivel.
